All aboard Spaceship Earth. Oh, wait…

Well, my week unexpectedly ended up very hectic, and in the melee my mid-week post has been sadly neglected.  I know you all missed me very, very much. (ha.)

So, in lieu of a proper post I’d like to share a video that is really worth the 20 minutes of your day. I posted earlier this week and last week about happiness, and flow, and the general sense of connectedness we tend to strive for, be it to each other or the earth. The video is from The Planetary Collective, which was “founded in 2011 as a direct answer to the big questions our civilization and species are currently facing. We believe that the root of the environmental and social crises facing humanity is the misperception that we are separate – from each other, the planet, and the cosmos as a whole.”

As I mentioned before, I do have (an admittedly non-sciency) belief in the power of positivity, and the flow & life force on earth. Earth is our home, and an organism that we are all a component of, and that we are all connected to – and it’s easy to lose sight of that simple piece of information.

In the same way that our own energies and actions affect ourselves, these same individual actions and  energies affect the environment that we live in. This video is a beautiful reminder of our place on “Spaceship Earth” (as the astronauts in the video call it) – and something that made me think about how we can cultivate an atmosphere that benefits us all – mind, body, spirit, and environment. If you enjoy the video – definitely check out the project here

Synopsis from the collective:

Astronauts who have seen the Earth from space have often described the ‘overview effect’ as an experience that has transformed their perspective of the planet and mankind’s place upon it, and enabled them to perceive it as our shared home, without boundaries between nations or species. OVERVIEW is a short film that will explore this perspective through interviews with astronauts who have experienced the overview effect.
